The management of a firm operating in a single industry is already complex. Doing so for a conglomerate that operates throughout multiple industries is as complex as it gets.
The Scope
A multi-faceted organisation established a century ago, remains a family-owned group of diverse companies operating in Sudan. This firm operates throughout multiple sectors including the automotive, agricultural, medical supplies, construction, shipping and more.
Maintaining control over these sectors requires diversified knowledge and expertise within multiple environments. Accompanying this is the concept of remaining profitable and competitive in these industries where firms have the ability to focus solely on the sector.
The Strategists were approached by one of the leaders heading the organisation with a request to proactively progress and adapt the group while stabilising the declining divisions branched under the firm.
The Method
Rapidly progressing business environments and practices have influenced many a business before and currently. The Strategists, therefore, set out to assist the group in developing a corporate culture and innovation capability that enables the crafting and execution of strategy vertically throughout the organisation.
We cultivated a four-pinned approach to develop these capabilities:

The case for careful management begins with a strategically aligned team of leaders able to engrain the innovation mindset vertically throughout the firm. Our approach was to strengthen the leadership faculty while also educating the functions throughout the firm into developing the ability to do so.
We also implemented an integration approach toward developing an online capacity for the firm that streamlined processes.
The Takeaway
Through a hands-on and personal integration within the strategy development of this firm, we were successfully able to create a way forward where no way was evident before. The Strategists not only facilitated a result-baring plan that saw a steady incline in each sector of this firm but also developed the ability of the giant to once again
