Dr. Samke J Ngcobo is a Medical Doctor and passionate Mental Health Advocate living with Bipolar Disorder Type 1 since the age of 14. She believes in the power of those with lived experience to advocate for mental health and challenge stigma.

She wrote the book ‘Reflections of a Convoluted Mind- A Journey With My Mental Illness’, which shares her authentic experience as both a patient and a medical doctor and aims to humanize and validate the journey of people living with mental illnesses.

Keynote Speaker:
As an experienced international keynote speaker through her platform Vocal Mentality (Pty) Ltd, she engages the corporate community (including clients like BMW, Discovery, and Anglo American) and the community at large on mental health psycho-education and her personal story.

Advocacy & Business:
Vocal Mentality serves as a platform for speaking up about mental health issues, offering consultation for employee wellness, workshops, and advisory services.

She founded Sisters For Mental Health, an initiative focused on creating a safe environment for discussing mental health struggles and collaborating with other advocacy organizations.

She has received several awards in 2025, including Author of the Year in the African Health Excellence Awards and Women Awards Health & Wellness Category Winner. Her platform, Vocal Mentality, also won the Forty Under 40 South Africa Wellness Category in 2025.
