The Scope

The development of wealth and influence leaves many a firm or industry with an exceptional opportunity to do more for their community. In the case of the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust, the ability to impact the nation of South Africa is more than possible.

The Strategists were approached by the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust with this concept in mind. To build a long-term strategy from 2022 to 2025 and to propel South Africa into the future through the provision of quality education, supporting individuals and institutions to improve the country’s capacity, defending the constitutional democracy and institutions and encouraging advocacy through art and creativity.
 

The Method

The team collaborated with stakeholders in the trust to address issues such as:

• Development of quality education nationally.
• Institutional support for socially beneficial developments.
• Promoting the artistic segment of South Africa.

The Strategists worked closely with not only the Oppenheimer family but also with members of the OMT board. We developed a multi-faceted strategic direction for the OMT to not only cater to all their objectives but also create a step-by-step, action plan to ensure the accomplishment of their goals in terms of education, the arts and the social environment affecting South Africa as a whole.

Through a series of sit-down sprints and hackathons with members of the board and key stakeholders, we were able to develop and build a strategy that not only fits the goals and culture of the OMT but also one that would bear long-term results.
